•Initiates and processes journal entries into various accounts
•Performs monthly, quarterly and year-end close procedures including preparation of schedules, reconciliations and reports related to areas of responsibility
•Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP
•Compiles financial information and assists in the preparation of reports.
•Reconciles sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolves differences.
•Provides information to management and/or appropriate external parties; explains accounting transactions; resolves accounting issues and discrepancies.
•Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
•Applies a working knowledge of GAAP and Company policies; verifies documents for completeness and compliance.
•Monitors own work to ensure that records are accurate and that responsible parties are notified of any relevant changes.
•Identifies opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency and communicates them to supervisor.
•Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.


This position is located in Long Island City, Queens.


•Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
•One or more years of related work experience preferred. Additional education may be substituted for experience.
•Strong oral and written communication skills.  Interaction proficiency with peers, clients and other professionals.
•Keen analytical and financial ability, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize assignments according to timelines and importance of task.
•Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing required.
