Responsibilities

The Senior Network Engineer for Voice requires extensive knowledge and experience in telecommunication services, as well as extensive leadership skills with the ability to multi-task.  The Engineer will assist in the evaluation, design and implementation of voice communications products and network services directly affecting both Altice USA’s internal and external customer base. This includes assisting in the planning, design and implementation of large scale and complex telephony systems (i.e. IPPBX, PBX, Voice Mail, ACD, IVR, CMS, CAS; etc.) and related products. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: directly supporting Sr. Leadership Team and therefore must have high level of discretion, professionalism, and dedication to customer service.  There will be times where the person will deal directly with the end user, provide technical support, guidance, and will be called on to make independent decisions as to how to best resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or equivalent work experience required. PBX administration certification also required.
  • Minimum eight years of experience designing voice connectivity solutions using technologies such as VoIP, TDM, SIP, QoS, Call Routing, Conference bridges, Voicemail systems, call recording, and other AVAYA & Cisco products such as: Avaya’s Aura Communications Manager, Modular Messaging, Call Management Systems; etc. and Cisco’s Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection, Emergency Responder; etc.
  • Minimum four to six years experience in system engineering is required
  • Experience with Cisco Telepresence video as well as Cisco deployments with various client application integration such as: Cisco, Acano (CMS), Cisco Jabber, MS Skype as well as a variety of end points.
  • Ability to assist in the documentation of complex technical issues for a range of technical management.
  • Must have excellent PC skills. Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite of software as well as Visio preferred.
  • Knowledge of network troubleshooting skills using tools such as ping and trace route. Circuit (T1, PRI’s Ethernet; etc.) troubleshooting and testing.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols (i.e. BGP, RIP, OSPF) and basic routing trouble analysis and diagnostic skills. Basic understanding of network hardware platforms used by Internap (i.e. Cisco routers and switches)
  • Prior experience with large to very large corporate Centrex, IPPBX, PBX, VoIP, Voice Mail, ACD, IVR environments with multiple site locations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral as well as written) to all levels of the Company’s middle and senior management and in dealing with internal and external customers and suppliers.
