    Responsibilities

    Under general direction of manager or supervisor perform operating system administration and management tasks including: installation, configuration, logical and physical design,  backup/restore,  server configuration and support and disaster recovery planning.  Collaborate with other leads and architects to create implementation designs, as well as review implementation designs of other team members and architects.  Perform as a team lead over other technical team members that may consist of project managers and developers.  Delegate work responsibilities, provide technical and professional guidance to more junior team members, develop technical action plans and project schedules for deployment.  Maintain and investigate performance improvements of operating systems.  Insure compliance with strategic architecture and general computer controls.

    Qualifications

    • Prior experience working in hybrid cloud computing environments (vCAC, AWS, Azure).
    • Candidate should possess expert knowledge of VMware virtualization products, Linux and Windows Server Administration and AWS admin console administration
    • Minimum 8-10 years experience on multiple hardware platforms and operating systems (UNIX/Linux).
    • Expert knowledge of virtualization administration in UNIX/Linux operating environments.  Knowledge of client server technology (application server, database, etc) and networking concepts; able to provide tech assistance, design and implement improved methods and procedures for troubleshooting and researching problem.  Advanced skill level required.
    • Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
    • Possess excellent analytical and decision making skills.
    • Possess leadership skills and competency to manage a technical workgroup by delegating responsibilities appropriately.
    • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Possess outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills.
    • Flexible working hours.
    • Moderate travel with little or no notice.
    • Required to participate in an on call rotation (includes evenings, weekends and occasional holidays.
