    Responsibilities

    The Sales Director must have the ability to ensure profitability as industry focus evolves and continued competitive landscape. Must generate new business opportunities/leads. This position will drive revenue growth and increase market share through strategic sales planning. The Director will improve client satisfaction and sales responsiveness and expand our customer base.

    • Responsible for managing the advertising revenue generated for Advertising Operations. This includes local, national, political sales and Advanced Platforms.
    • Plan and implement strategies for the growth of advertising sales markets across the footprint, includes leveraging tools to optimize revenue.
    • Ensure revenue and operating income budgets are achieved on a monthly and annual basis.
    • Provide leadership, direction, and resources as needed for local sales staff, and to ensure performance and growth.
    • Be a strong motivator, hold team/individuals accountable, engage and develop the team.
    • Provide direction and coaching to sales leadership who also directly train and coach.
    • Drive and champion performance based incentives/recognition programs.
    • Develop revenue, expense and capital budgets annually. Provide financial forecasts.
    • Oversee all technical operations, sales support and service delivery.
    • Plan, forecast, analyze, and execute strategies to support the sales objectives.
    • Utilize sales reporting and analytical data to inform decisions that increase profitability.
    • Manage and maximize inventory usage, as well as pricing.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated success managing team performance to meet and exceed sales targets
    • 10+ years in ad sales industry
    • 10+ years managerial sales experience
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Charismatic and enthusiastic leader with skill and experience in creating excitement and energy, building and leading teams and developing skills in others
    • Proven ability to attract, retain and motivate talent
    • Financial/budgeting experience
    • Track record of championing change to move business forward
    • Demonstrated use of sales reporting tools and analytics to inform business decisions
