    Responsibilities

    The Government and Public Affairs Specialist will provide support and project management for the department, focusing on projects related to diversity and inclusion, community affairs programs, and other projects as assigned.  This individual must be able to foster strong working relationships as a trusted partner, working with Department staff, internal business contacts and external community partners at all levels and without explicit reporting relationships. Individual must be highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills and able to effectively handle multiple projects meeting assigned deadlines.  Must demonstrate initiative and be able to see tasks through to completion with minimal oversight.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Initiatives: Support company commitment to diversity and inclusion including support of diversity and inclusion initiatives and the associated activities of the affinity groups.  Key duties include but are not limited to project management related, program and event support, communications liaison between the affinity groups and D&I leadership team, and support of employee engagement in D&I program. 
    • Community and Public Affairs Programs: Support execution of company commitment to community through Altice Connects and other community-based programs including but not limited to contest and program administration, project management, event support, activity tracking and impact, partnership execution, reflection of community activity on digital platforms (i.e., website, social media), support of  tactics to raise awareness of community activity and employee engagement in community programs.
    • Project Management:  Lead and/or support assigned projects.  Create, track, clearly communicate and ensure adherence to timeline, milestones and deliverables; Coordinate with key internal and external stakeholders; ensure project is executed in an operationally efficient manner and that roadblocks are timely assessed and escalated with recommended solutions.
    • Partnership management:  Ensure effective implementation of partnerships, fostering strong community relationships that are maximized for impact and meet intended goals. 
    • Administrative Support:  Provide overall administrative support for the Government and Community Affairs Department, including support of budget administration and timely processing of department related expenses (i.e., charitable contributions and other payments as directed), professional correspondence, and maintenance of department files.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required. 
    • Four years of professional experience focused on community engagement or employee engagement in either a corporate or a non-profit setting.  Media and communications experience a plus.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
      • Demonstrated project management skills.
      • Ability to prioritize and act quickly with demonstrable judgment.
      • Ability to develop and execute an initiative with minimal ongoing oversight and excellent follow through.
      • Strong proficiency and comfort with digital communications, including writing for the web and social media a plus.
      • Ability to establish relationships at all levels in a corporate setting.
      • Well-organized and detail oriented.
      • Demonstrated ability to build consensus among disparate interests to achieve business goals.
      • Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities at once and prioritize without jeopardizing deadlines.
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrated “speed to market” skills, and nimble to change direction.
      • Collaborative and team-oriented.
      • Ability to be a quick study on new areas.
      • Positive, solution-oriented demeanor.
      • Proficient knowledge, with proven experience of Microsoft Office applications.
